1/23/2024 0 Comments Lol meta sucks![]() I'd just like to see a healthier game state with more variety in comp viability.Īnd I definitely agree that the reason these comps have an easier time hitting buffs is simply because of the way the comps were designed. It was like that in S1 as well with Glacial/Rangers and 6 Nobles consistently dominating everything. I guess it just feeds in to an overarching issue of the game itself: that the state of the game shouldn't be so unbalanced that there is literally only one or two reliably consistent comps that just destroy almost every other comp. Yeah, I definitely get that Poison/Pred or Ocean/Mage won't always be dominate as the game gets patched and nerfs/buffs happen. ![]() Is that just the nature of the game? Will there *always* be a comp that dominates the board? Or do you think there will ever be a healthy meta (not even balanced, just healthy)?Ĭurious to know if anyone else is feeling this way. And I get that I can just go play norms, which I still do, but it would be nice to feel like there were more options available that were viable for climbing. It feels like I have to force a meta comp in order to win consistently, which takes away a lot of the fun for me. There are so many cool comp possibilities out there, but it feels like I'm punished any time I deviate from the meta and try something new, or even simply work with what RNG is giving me and trying to adapt based on the champs and items I get when they aren't meta. But this game is just starting to feel less and less tactical as it progresses and every game is starting to feel the exact same. Obviously I know there are exceptions, and I have won games with off-meta comps on occasion. In TFT right now, it just feels like a race to get the meta comps and whoever gets luckiest wins. ![]() Where is the tactical play when all it takes to win games consistently is knowing the current strongest comp and abusing it? At least in the LoL meta, there may be stronger builds, but you still have to know how to play your champ to win. Maybe it's just me, but I feel like that really defeats the point of a "Tactics" game. Even top players like DisguisedToast have said that the majority of their wins come from Poison/Predator or Ocean/Mage comps. And neither comp has very strong counters from what I've seen/experienced. Recently though, I've noticed that in literally every game, Predator/Poison and Ocean/Mage are in the top 4 without exception (or some other variant where Predator or Mage is the foundation). I've been playing a decent amount of S2 and have been steadily climbing the ranked ladder. ![]()
